Application to attend the Antioch Writers' Workshop 2013 Fall Retreat, November 1-3, 2013, is now open. The Fall Retreat will be held at Grailville Retreat Center and led by authors Matthew Goodman and Sherri Wood Emmons.
The Retreat is designed for writers who have works of fiction (short stories or novels) or essay(s)/creative nonfiction either complete or in progress and who wish to focus on revising/completing this work and identifying next steps on their writing paths. Up to twenty writers will be selected from applicants.
Interested participants can apply by email to info@antiochwritersworkshop.com with the subject line: Fall 2013 Retreat Application. Attach, as a WORD file, or mail to Antioch Writers' Workshop, c/o Antioch University Midwest, 900 Dayton Street, Yellow Springs, OH 45387, the following TWO documents:
1) A one-page cover letter providing your name, contact information (address, email, phone), and a paragraph or two about where you are on the writing path (what you're working on) and why you want to attend this retreat.
2) A writing sample: between 10 and 20 double spaced pages of creative nonfiction OR fiction.
Up to twenty applicants will be selected by Antioch Writers' Workshop. Applications will be accepted between August 1, 2013 and October 1, 2013. Applicants MUST be over 21 years of age. Applicants will receive a confirmation via email that application has been received within 5 BUSINESS days of receipt. (If you do not receive an email confirmation within 5 BUSINESS days, please re-send application.) Applicants will receive notification of acceptance or decline by email by October 7, 2013, midnight.
The $450.00 tuition includes two nights private lodging at Grailville Retreat Center (each gender will be assigned a shared bathroom/shower facility), all food catered by Grailville (Saturday breakfast, lunch, dinner; Sunday breakfast and lunch), and instruction/guidance by authors Matthew Goodman and To Be Named. Transportation to and from Grailville is not included and must be arranged by participants.
