Saturday Seminar Schedule

Whether you want a one-day writing seminar in craft, nuts and bolts, and inspiration-or you want to kick-start your full week experience-this Saturday Seminar is for you, whether you're writing poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction, several (or all!) of those genres, or just haven't quite started yet but need some help!     
8:15-9:00: check in and continental breakfast (bagels, muffins, juice, coffee, tea, yogurt) provided.
9:00-10:00: Opening Panel--Overcoming your fears--Led by ALL Saturday Seminar faculty
10:15-11:30: Breakout sessions:
  • Poetic forms (Led by Jaime Adoff)
  • Getting started as a writer Led by Rebecca Morean, published essayist, short story writer, author of In The Dead of Winter (as Abbey Pen Baker), and Antioch Writers' Workshop board president
  • Point of View for Fiction and Creative Nonfiction writers(Led by Mike Mullin)
11:30-12:30: Lunch (provided)
12:30-1:45: Breakout sessions 
  • Making Setting/Place come alive in your writing (Led by Jaime Adoff)
  • Developing Great Characters and Dialogue
  • Grammar Boot Camp (Led by Kate Geiselman andRebecca Kuder--We promise it will be fun!)
2:00-3:15: Breakout sessions 
  • Imagery and word choice (Led by Jaime Adoff)
  • Getting published Led by Sharon Short, author of My One Square Inch of Alaska (Penguin Plume) and the self-publishedSanity Check.
  • Going from "tell" to "show"... or how to make a scene (in your writing, that is)
3:30-4:30: Closing Panel: What now? Setting Goals and Next Steps for     your writing journey! (Led by ALL Saturday Seminar faculty.)
4:30-6:00: Dinner break (On your own); registration for those attending     the Morning Only, Afternoon Only, or Full Week Programs for the         rest of the week.
6:00: Dessert reception
7:00: Keynote with Lee Martin

You can attend the Saturday Seminar as:
► A stand-alone experience
► In combination with a Full Week experience
► In combination with EITHER Morning Only Classes OR Afternoon Only Focus on Form
